Your guide will accompany you to the Guard Shack at Machu Picchu for the best view of the sun rising above the surrounding mountains. You will also have time to hike up to Machu Picchu Mountain to appreciate even more stunning views of the ancient Inca citadel. The hike takes around two hours uphill and only one hour to get back. Taking the train from Aguas Calientes you'll head through the dramatic landscape of the Sacred Valley towards Cusco. The religious center of Cusco is the Temple of Koricancha where the Inca paid homage to the Sun god called Inti. Qori means goldwork and Kancha means an enclosed space, bound by walls. A short uphill walk takes you to the artisan quarter of San Blas, where you can watch the artisans in action. Later you will be transferred to Sacsayhuaman, the Royal House of the Sun and one of the greatest stone monuments in Incan architecture; Qenqo Amphitheater, a well-known Incan temple that dominates the whole area; and Tambomachay, located 8 km from Cusco, which was an Inca sanctuary dedicated to water and a place reserved for Inca Royalty. Its name comes from two Quechua words: Tampu, meaning collective housing, and Machay, which means a resting place. A 15 mins walk south of Mancora the beaches here are less crowded and the further south you go the more secluded and deserted they get!
