You will also spend time with the Nubian community to learn about their traditions and the character that defines their way of life. Next you continue to Luxor, the ancient city once known as Thebes. Visit the Valley of the Kings, the resting place of pharaohs and queens, and see Hatshepsut’s Temple along with the Karnak Temple Complex, two sites that show the scale of Egypt’s architectural heritage. After your time in Luxor you travel to the Red Sea coast in El Gouna. Relax by the water, enjoy the warm weather, or join a desert experience that takes you into the open landscapes surrounding the region. You then return to Cairo for a final introduction to the city’s culture. Wander through Khan El Khalili, known for its textiles, spices, and traditional craftwork, and take part in a cooking class with a family to learn how Egyptian dishes are prepared. A walk through the historic streets of downtown completes your stay.
