    In the morning, there will be a short tour of Sheki, visiting the historic Caravanserai, exploring the local market, and the stunning Sheki Khans Palace, renowned for its magnificent murals and glasswork. Afterward, you'll cross the Balakan/Lagodekhi border to continue your journey in to Georgia. Next, you’ll visit the Javakhishvili Winery (or a similar venue) to learn about the ancient Georgian wine-making process using clay pots, known as Qvevri, which impart an amber tint to the wine.     Uplistsikhe Caves, Mtskheta Ancient Sites and Tbilisi

    Your guide will meet you after breakfast for the drive to Tbilisi, Georgia’s capital. The first stop is at Uplistsikhe, an ancient site dating back to the 1st millennium B.C. This once-thriving cave city is now a sprawling complex of caves and stone structures carved directly into the rock. Your guide will explain the transformation of Uplistsikhe from a pagan religious center to an important hub for early Christianity in Georgia. From here, drive on to Mtskheta, one of the oldest towns in the country, with a history stretching back over 2,000 years. Christianity was proclaimed here as the state religion in 337 AD, after St. Nino, a Christian missionary from Cappadocia, arrived and converted the Georgian king. Mtskheta is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Jvari Monastery, perched on a hill overlooking the town is a 5th–6th-century church with historical significance and stunning panoramic; and the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, a magnificent example of Georgian religious architecture. Built in the 11th century, this cathedral is one of the most important in Georgia, both spiritually and historically. According to tradition, the robe of Christ is buried within this enormous, intricately decorated cathedral, adding to the cathedral’s profound significance for Christians worldwide.     After breakfast, you will be driven to Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world, known for its strikingly blue waters and stunning scenery. After taking in the breathtaking views, there is a visit to Sevanavank Monastery, located on the Sevan Peninsula. The site includes two monasteries, one of which is in ruins, while the other remains intact. Both were built in the 10th century during the Middle Ages. Next, you’ll stop at the Mikaelyan Family Farm, where the family has been producing unique Armenian cheeses for several years, including wine-cheese, cognac-cheese, "horac," and parmesan-style varieties. The monastery’s location, perched on the edge of a deep gorge, enhances its historical and spiritual significance. To reach Tatev, enjoy a thrilling ride on the Wings of Tatev, the world’s longest non-stop double-track cable car. This Guinness World Record-holding cable car spans 5.7 kilometers, offering breathtaking aerial views of the lush Vorotan Gorge. Upon arrival at the monastery, explore its halls, chapels, and courtyards, and take in the spectacular views of the surrounding valleys.     Geghard Monastery - Garni Temple - Symphony of Stones - Lavash Cookery & Lunch - Gum Market

    Today begins with a visit to Geghard Monastery, named after the legendary lance that pierced Christ’s body. While its origins are unclear, the current complex dates back to the mid-13th century. Next, we explore Garni Temple, Armenia’s only surviving Pagan-era structure, built in the 1st century AD and dedicated to Mihr, the god of cleanliness. Though destroyed by an earthquake in 1679, it was restored in 1975. From there, we drive to the Symphony of Stones, a breathtaking basalt rock formation near Garni, where nature has sculpted columnar shapes resembling an orchestra of standing stones. Afterward, we visit a local home for lunch and take part in making lavash, Armenia’s traditional flatbread, baked in a ground oven called a tonir. Recognized by UNESCO in 2015, lavash is a staple of Armenian cuisine. Returning to Yerevan, we stop at the Gum Market, a lively spot near Tashir trading center, open daily. Here there are local artists, craftsmen, and vendors who display and sell a diverse array of handmade crafts, traditional Armenian art,. souvenirs, jewelry, carpets, ceramics, and other unique items. Founded in 303 AD, the Cathedral of Ejmiatsin is the official residence of the Catholicos of Armenia and serves as the spiritual heart of the Armenian Apostolic Church. This ancient cathedral is not only a place of worship but also a symbol of Armenian identity and faith, attracting pilgrims and visitors from around the world. After exploring Ejmiatsin, continue to the ruins of Zvartnots Temple, built in the 7th century by Nerses the Builder. Although only remnants remain today, the site still carries an air of mystery and grandeur. Once a stunning architectural marvel, Zvartnots featured a circular structure with a remarkable dome. As you walk through the ruins, you'll learn about the temple’s historical significance and the reasons behind its abandonment. Both of these sacred sites offer a deep understanding of Armenia’s religious heritage and architectural brilliance. Next, drive to Parakar Village, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Armenian lunch in a local home. During the meal, participate in a cooking masterclass led by a famous Armenian TV star, learning how to prepare the sweet Armenian dessert Sudzukh and homemade pasta Arishta.
